Children's Trust

As a statutory requirement from November 2009, a high level strategic Children’s Trust Board has been established for the area of West Cheshire.  The Trust Board meets at venues across the area to engage with local partnerships and understand and share key challenges.

The Trust Board is the apex of a much wider network of all those in West Cheshire who impact upon the outcomes of all our children, but especially the most vulnerable and those in need of support and guidance.  Governance arrangements have been developed and these received formal approval in Summer 2009, though are currently subject to review.

The Trust Board is supported by Outcome Leads and task and finish sub-groups, who deliver the work programme of the Trust as set out in the statutory Children Plan.  Cheshire West and Chester Council has adopted the existing 2008-2011 Children Plan and is undertaking a process of review and refresh over the next 12 months to April 2010.

Key Documents

We would very much welcome views from all our partners in the emerging Children Trust network on these two documents as part of the process of setting up the Trust and reviewing the Children Plan - and on the future working arrangements of the Trust.

For further details on the working of our new Trust, and to submit any views in relation to the above documents, please contact Isabel Noonan or Sarah Blaylock on 01244 972372.
