Business, Enterprise and Culture
The aim of the Business, Enterprise and Culture Thematic Partnership is to:-
- secure future jobs by supporting local businesses to grow and prosper;
- encourage enterprise and attract new businesses to the area; and
- support the development of employment opportunities in the cultural sector.
This will be done by ensuring those in the most socially deprived communities benefit from local economic growth and by closing the gap in skills.
The Business, Enterprise and Culture Partnership aims to deliver an equality of opportunity for everyone and develop a ‘one-stop’ approach, to reduce the burden of bureaucracy and increase value for money.
There are a number of key priorities which the Business, Enterprise and Culture Partnership is responsible for in the West Cheshire Local Area Agreement:-
- reducing the number of working age people claiming out of work benefits in the worst performing neighbourhoods;
- increasing the proportion working age people qualified to Level 2;
- increasing the proportion working age people qualified to Level 3; and
- increasing new business registration rates (especially in Ellesmere Port).
The Partnership is also responsible for the key outcomes to:-
- increase and sustain the number of social enterprises in West Cheshire; and
- increase the value of the visitor economy.
