New identity for West Cheshire Children's Trust

Latest News (5th October 2011)

A team of creative young people have developed a brand new identity for West Cheshire Children's Trust

Cheshire’s Members of the Youth Parliament (MYP) and representatives of the borough’s Children in Care Council worked together to create a new logo and brand for the Children’s Trust, which has been recently refreshed under the leadership of independent chair Moira Swann.

The young people drew up a brief for graphic designers outlining what they felt the Trust should stand for and deciding how that could be conveyed visually.
The Trust brings together all organisations in the borough from the public, voluntary, community and faith sectors that commission or provide services for children, young people and their families.  Their common goal is to improve lives and futures.

The logo proposed by the young people is designed to convey an impression of a fresh, approachable, young and supportive partnership, which builds services around the needs of the child, values diversity and is moving forward.

West Cheshire Children’s Trust, whose partners include representatives from health, schools and colleges, GPs, the council, police, fire service and the voluntary sector, unanimously approved the logo at their meeting on Friday 30 September 2011.  Independent chair of West Cheshire Children’s Trust Moira Swann said: “The design is inspiring and conveys exactly the image that we would want for our partnership.  The young people did a fantastic job and I am very grateful to them for developing this wonderful brand for us.”

Jess Colston, 15, an MYP from The Bishops’ Blue Coat School, Chester, added: "I really enjoyed seeing our first perceptions and ideas go on to become a great finished design."

One of the first documents that the new logo will be applied to is the Children’s Plan Overview 2011-12, which sets out what the partners are aiming to achieve between now and March 2012.
