West Cheshire Together
Working in partnership for local people

West Cheshire Together has been successful in an application to be one of four national pilots for a Whole Place Community Budget, to explore new ways of delivering quality services with partners and communities across the Borough.
All partners involved in the bidding process have displayed their commitment and vision to support all communities across the Borough. Pilot status represents a huge vote of confidence in the innovation and collaboration already underway across the Borough.
A Community Budget involves being clear on how shared objectives can be achieved by bringing together resources, reducing duplication and establishing more effective and customer centric services.
The objective of the Government pilot areas is to thoroughly test the concept of how Community Budgets would work and how this could lead to more efficient, effective and responsive local services.
The pilot will involve a review in 2012 of key local services. This will be done jointly between local partners, community representatives and Whitehall officials. Following the review a series of new and far-reaching delivery proposals will be identified and be subject to local and national agreement.
The proposal submitted to Government aims to deliver a Borough-wide Community Budget to drive responsive local services, social action and the highest quality of life in the UK for all residents in a way that can be replicated, adopted and adapted in other localities.
This proposal is structured around five key outcomes which reflect the shared priorities across the partnership:
1. Enabling thriving, sustainable and safe neighbourhoods
2. Giving children and families the best start in life
3. Ensuring all residents are supported to age well
4. Support an economy with opportunity for all
5. Developing smarter public services
All partners will be actively involved in this exciting process and have the opportunity to shape the future of the Borough.
