Local Strategic Partnership
Local Strategic Partnerships were introduced through the Local Government Act 2000 as the means by which representatives from the public, private, community, voluntary and faith sectors could work better together to improve the quality of life of local people. Local Strategic Partnerships fulfil a series of key roles which include working with the local authority to develop a Sustainable Community Strategy for the area to promote social, environmental and economic wellbeing and prepare a Local Area Agreement as the delivery plan of the Sustainable Community Strategy.

An overarching Local Strategic Partnership for the borough of Cheshire West and Chester – West Cheshire Together – was established on 1st April 2009. West Cheshire Together sits at the heart of a wider Partnerships Framework ( PDF 37kb) to co-ordinate partnership working at a strategic, tactical and operational level.
Chaired by Councillor Mike Jones, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, its membership is drawn from a wide range of public, private and third sector organisations as well as other key partnerships established to tackle specific issues.
West Cheshire Together meets on a quarterly basis to oversee effective partnership working, key challenges for the area, the Comprehensive Area Assessment, delivery of Sustainable Community Strategy outcomes and achievement of Local Area Agreement targets.

Network Events
West Cheshire Together aims to involve as many individuals, organisations and partnerships as possible in achieving its goals. Due to the size and complexity of the partnerships framework, two wider "network" events will be held each year, to ensure that all who wish to contribute ideas and support the development and delivery of the many and varied elements of the framework have the opportunity to come together, network, share ideas and have their voice heard. Information relating to "network" events can be accessed via the dated hyperlinks below:-
