Wellbeing Grant Funding Opportunity
The Rural West Area team and NHS Western Cheshire (through the Chairman's Discretionary Fund) created a “5 ways to empower communities” grant - the closing date for applications was 31st January 2011. This £20,000 funding pot provided by the Primary Care Trust’s Chairman's Initiative and the Rural West Area team offered Town and Parish Councils or community groups (where no parish council exists) an opportunity to work in partnership and apply for a small grant of up to £2,000 to deliver interventions identified through parish plans or other local consultation.
A total of twelve projects were successful, receiving between £950 and £2000 each. Congratulations to the following who were successful:-
- Willaston Village Festival Society: Village Sports & Community Market Day
- Tilston Parish Council/Tilston Playing Fields: Recreation ground hut refurbishment
- Neston Town Councl/ CTC Chester & Wales: Bicycle Belles
- Saughall & Shotwick Park Parish Council/Neighbourhood Management Team: Summer Play Scheme
- Ashton Hayes Parish Council/ Sports & Recreation Association: Recreation Ground
- No Mans Heath Parish Council: Community Fun Day
- St Nicholas Church, Burton: Church Sound System
- Neston Town Council/ Neston Ecumenical Singers: Development of Ecumenical Singers
- Saughall & Shotwick Park Parish Council/SJR Fitness: Bootcamps
- Waverton Parish Council/ Village Institute Bowling Club: Bowling Shelter
- Neston Town Council/ Little Actors: Yoga for All
- Mickle Trafford & District Parish Council/Trafford Mill Kitchen Garden: Time to Grow
